The "V" Model...a
simple explanation...

The "V" Model-
This gets referred to all of the time
in industry literature...quite rightly, as it is
probably the best
explanation of the basic concepts behind Validation going...
But what is
it?
This model relates the development and verification of requirements
to the specific validation
phases...
URS/ FRS/ DDS document
requirements...
IQ/ OQ/ PQ verify these requirements to complete the
validation cycle...
The prototypical V Model diagram below outlines some
of the basic relationships...
Take our Industry
Survey...

The V
Model is actually built into the OS Diagram...it is placed in context of the
overall process
and sequence of the life of a project, which is kind of
the whole point...a series of abstract
diagrams out of context do not
fully explain what it is that we try to accomplish during an actual
project...
Definitions- the acronyms in the
diagram above stand for the following:
URS- User Requirements
Specification
FRS- Functional Requirements Specification
DDS-
Detail Design Specification
IQ- Installation Qualification
OQ-
Operational Qualification
PQ- Performance Qualification
System
Build- Physical construction of system in question
