Summary is provided on a single page which contains the roll-up of the
individual cost items
developed in detail...
The table below

Cost...always a critical part of
project planning and execution...
The building, the equipment, services
escalation, Owner internal costs...all must be considered
in order to
establish a budget for the Probable Cost of a project...
Please review
the ROM Cost Model below for additional information...
Remember to
consult with a qualified industry professional if you have further
questions...
The Total Installed Cost is noted at the bottom of the
Summary page example...
Direct
Costs are items that result in a physical assest...a building, a process skid,
etc...
In this example, they are broken up by floor and classification
for the facility, and by process
equipment and installation on the
process side...
All
Rights Reserved
Other
factors impact the total cost of a project and these items should be estimated
at a project
level...
This example includes a project
contingency and escalation...
Indirect costs are project expenses
for other items like fees for professional services required
to execute
the project
In this example, there are costs for engineering,
construction management, validation, and
miscellaneous
Indirect
costs can also be captured to cover internal Owner costs required to support the
project...
Other items in this part of the table could include
furniture and computer network installation
which are typically paid by
the Owner but may not be counted directly as part of the capital
project costs...
The
individual cost items shown above are built up as noted in the following
tables...
Obviously, this method lends itself to a spreadsheet analysis
for developing individual cost
items and rolling them forward to a
summary page...
The actual spreadsheet will be posted shortly...
